Bouquet Delivery Day: 4 Expert Tips for a Picture-Perfect Start
Your wedding morning is one of the most exciting parts of the day filled with laughter, anticipation and beautiful details coming to life. Among the first of those details to arrive? Your wedding bouquet and your bridesmaids' flowers. As your boutique wedding florist, we take special care in delivering each arrangement with love and precision.
To help you make the most of your flowers (and keep your morning running smoothly), here are three essential tips for receiving your wedding day bouquet:
1. Hold Your Bouquet at Your Belly Button – It’s the Golden Rule
When it’s time to walk down the aisle or take those all-important pre-ceremony photos, remember this simple yet powerful tip: hold your bouquet at your belly button, with your elbows tucked in by your sides.
This positioning does more than feel natural—it ensures the intricate details of your gown, such as lacework, beading, or custom tailoring, are front and centre in every photo.
This is a golden rule for bridesmaids too. Often in the excitement of the moment, bouquets get held too high, which can obscure necklines, jewellery, or flattering dress shapes. A relaxed hold at the belly button creates balance, poise, and elegance for everyone in your bridal party.
2.Always Face the Blooms Forward in Photos
We’ve designed your bouquet to highlight premium, standout blooms that photograph beautifully. So when it’s time for photos - whether candid or posed - always ensure the flowers are facing forward. It might sound simple, but it makes all the difference. Blooms up - stems down is a great way to remember.
We want to see those carefully selected petals, not the stems! Your bouquet is always about the blooms, never the back or the sides. This small detail helps your florist’s artistry shine in your photos and ensures your floral investment is captured in full glory.
3. Have a Small Towel Ready to Dab the Bouquet Stems
Your bouquets will arrive in their own water source to keep them hydrated and fresh until it’s time to carry them. While this keeps the blooms at their best, the stems may be damp when removed from the water. Before you or your bridesmaids pick them up, we recommend using a small towel to gently pat the ends dry.
This quick step helps protect your gowns - especially if you're wearing delicate silks or light-coloured fabrics - from any stray droplets. Trust us, a simple towel nearby can save a last-minute panic and keep everyone looking flawless.
4. Set Aside Space in Your 'Getting Ready' Area for the Bouquets
Our wedding bouquets are hand-delivered in custom boxes with our signature boutique packaging and they’re just as carefully presented as the flowers inside. Because of this, they’ll need a little more room than you might expect - especially if you're getting ready in a cozy Airbnb or a busy hotel suite.
We recommend setting aside a cool, shaded spot away from direct sunlight and out of foot traffic. This not only keeps the blooms in peak condition but also ensures they’re safely tucked away from makeup, steam, or the general bustle of the morning. Ideally, pop them in a corner near natural light (for a few Instagram-worthy snaps) but away from any heat sources or open windows that could dry them out.
Boutique Service, Personal Touch
We design your wedding florals with your story in mind—so from the moment they arrive, we want them to feel special. By following these simple tips, you’ll not only keep your bouquets looking their best, but you'll also create a calm, elegant environment as you prepare for one of the most important days of your life.
