6 KEY ELEMENTS TO CONSIDER WHEN STYLING YOUR WEDDING FLORALS

So you’ve booked your complimentary styling session with us and you’re ready to discuss your luxury Hunter Valley wedding. Do you need to know all the things about florals???

No not at all. We’re here to guide you all the way. However there are six key elements that we believe are important foundational concepts you need to have an idea on before we speak. It’s going to make it easier for us to see your vision and take it forward to making it happen on the day. Let’s explore them below.

  1. YOUR INVESTMENT

We appreciate it when couples are open and honest in terms of their investment as it allows us to immediately gain an understanding of what’s possible and also gives you a true representation how your flowers will look on the day. It will save you disappointment if you’re imagining roses and orchid but your investment won’t quite stretch that far. Every florist will price their creativity differently. We know that some florists will charge more and less than we do. The honesty goes both ways. Our overall aim is to provide you with the best quality blooms and provide honest opinions as to where the best use of your investment will be. As each wedding is different and unique, so will each quote be different. Essentially it will be comparing apples and oranges. The most important thing is do we connect and do you love our style? Does it take your breath away every single time? You can read a little more about our price points here YOUR INVESTMENT

  2. COLOURS

This is not as difficult as you think. Simply think of your favourite colours. What are you drawn to? What’s the common colour theme in your wardrobe. To take colour a little deeper think about how you want your guests to experience your wedding day. If you’re after an elegant and luxury feel then perhaps a classic black and white colour way is your go to. For a more romantic and classic look opt for tradition pastel and nude tones. If Summer party fun is your aim then pops of everything bright will be the way to go! When we speak about colour we don’t mean RED, YELLOW & BLUE! We are talking about CHERRY, CHAMPAGNE & LAPIS! Fancy I know, but we take colour to the next level of luxury!!!!

  3. STYLE & AESTHETICS

Style and aesthetic play a significant role in determining your wedding flower choices. The flowers should complement the overall wedding theme, colour scheme, and your personal style. For example, an elegant wedding may feature roses or orchids but a more chic cocktail affair could afford the look of one bloom en masse. Ultimately, the flowers should enhance the overall ambiance and create a cohesive look.

  4. YOUR SEASON

Seasonality is a big factor to any wedding flower choice. The season can greatly impact the availability and cost of certain flowers. For example, in Spring, Tulips, Blushing Bride and Peonies are popular choices, while in Autumn, Dahlias and Chrysanthemums are at their best. Fortunately roses in all their forms are at their best all year round! It's important to consider the season when selecting your wedding flowers to ensure that you can get the flowers you love and are in abundance and at their very best. 5. VENUE SPACE

Your venue was probably the first item ticked off your list. Its space can impact your wedding flower choice by influencing the style, colour, and size of arrangements that will work well in the space. The proportions of each piece need to be considered carefully to ensure that everything ‘just works’. For example, a large ballroom may require larger and more dramatic arrangements, while a more intimate outdoor garden may call for more natural and delicate arrangements. It's important to consider the overall aesthetic of the venue when selecting your wedding flowers. Here’s a little tip when looking at the natural space of your venue. Step back to view it in all its glory. Does it really need those large floral installations or is the natural beauty all it needs to give you the perfect space to say I do . It’s that little saying ‘less is more”! We’ve flowered at lots of our Hunter Valley venues and we’ve some great suggestions on how to make these places look their best.

  6. ARRANGEMENT TYPES

The arrangement types can affect wedding flower choices because different arrangements require different types of flowers. For example, a cascading bouquet may require more flowers that drape or hang, while a compact bouquet may require more tightly packed blooms. It's important to consider the overall style and theme of the wedding when choosing the arrangement type and accompanying flowers.

    WHAT WE ARE LOVING!

Roses are our absolute favourite and we include them in just about everything we create. From spray to garden and Columbian to standards we love their colours and versatility.

    Until next time

    Jane xx
